Reduce your risk. Protect your crew.
Life at sea is challenging at the best times of times. Gone unaddressed, small issues can turn into major events putting your vessel, crew and voyage at risk. Crew and passenger health and well-being can be the difference between a smooth or stressful trip.
Having immediate access to emergency doctors for minor and serious medical events can significantly improve a crew member’s outcome. Having support helps to alleviate stress for skipper and crew, and reduce the likelihood for a medical evacuation or vessel diversion.
Our team of emergency doctors are passionate about delivering care to those in remote locations, and many have been delivering telemedicine services for 20 years. Regardless of who is calling, the Canadian Navy, shipping or fishing vessels, yachts or major fleets, our doctors are able to provide timely and compassionate advice and care on board.
Direct 24/7 Access
With ClipperTelemed+ there is no delay. You are directly connected to one of our on-call emergency doctors within minutes. We encourage you to call for the small things, as often as you need to ensure the health and well-being of those board.
Crew can call the 24/7 line using their satellite phone and are connected to our on-call emergency doctor within minutes.
Once connected, doctors will have digital access to the crew’s medical history and can advise on managing illnesses or injuries on board, and assist in deciding if/when a medical evacuation or vessel diversion is required.
Crew can also interact with the doctor through secure messaging. Images, photos or short video clips can also be sent to our doctor using narrow bandwidth via satellite, if required.
Based on 20 years of managing illnesses and injury at sea, we have designed custom medical kits for clients, which meet the WHO, MCA Standards and other international certifications.
We also offer
- On-board assessments of your vessel
- Re-stocking as required (through suppliers in Canada, UK and the US)
- Medical Equipment rental (defibrillators, automated external defibrillators (AEDs), etc.)

Hear from some of our clients
We used the ClipperTelemed+ service on our recent voyage in Antarctica. Our vessel carried 12 crew and passengers. Their wellbeing is utmost in our mind. Having the ClipperTelemed+ service in place brought great piece of mind to me and the rest of the crew. We have rebooked the service and recommend it to mariners as the best way of dealing with medical incidents at sea.
